“I would not hesitate to recommend Cedar Laine Restoration to anyone who is looking to have their hardwood floors refinished.

When we purchased our new family “cottage” a few years ago, we “inherited” hardwood floors in the dining room/kitchen area that were worn right down to bare wood in many places, had water damage near the water cooler and outside doors and some fairly deep, dark stains in places due to spills of wine (or maybe grape juice??) had seeped into the bare wood and refused to come out. The hardwood floors run throughout the ground level of the cottage and in the living room, although they were still in good shape overall – they were showing signs of fading from the sun given the southern exposure of the huge picture window. When it came time to refinish the floors, we called Chris and his team at Cedar Laine – since they had done such a stellar job on the outdoor refinishing of our board and batten cedar siding the year before.

Chris and his team are the consummate professionals: they showed up when they said they would, provided a detailed estimate up front in writing – encompassing both pricing, timing, and materials management, clearly spelling out our responsibilities and when they were due (e.g choosing the stain colour and finish level). Once awarded the job, they treated our lake front home as if it were their own – amazingly careful with our furniture, baseboard removal and ensuring that the work site was clean and tidy at the end of each day. They achieved an amazingly consistent and wonderful finish on the floors in all of the rooms despite significantly different levels of wear and damage in the various rooms. He turned what was previously a detriment to the appearance of the house into one of its best assets. Everyone who visits comments on how gorgeous they are and we are extremely satisfied with the outcome. Finally once finished, everything was spotlessly clean (they even wiped down all the walls to get the dust off from the sanding!!), put back exactly as it was before the job. AND it was done on budget, on time and with a great attitude.

The best recommendation that I can give is to say that I wish we had more floors that needed refinishing as I would use Chris and his team at Cedar Laine again! ”
